Conference Venue The conference will take place at the Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAC) in Kolymbari on the north coast of the west part of the island of Crete, Greece. The OAC is a modern Conference Center situated in an exceptionally beautiful location, only a few meters from the sea and next to the 17th century Gonia Monastery. Following the inauguration of the new Conference Center in November 1995, the OAC offers all the facilities necessary to meet the most demanding requirements. It provides a multi-purpose hall with a capacity for 730 persons. In addition, the OAC has 7 meeting rooms, offices for consultations, secretariats, areas for displays, posters, exhibits, and areas for outdoor events. Most facilities are air-conditioned. The OAC is fully equipped with modern technology tools to cover all conference needs. |

The conference rooms are equipped with all technical means necessary even for the most demanding conferences (video projector, screen, speaker-podium with microphone, table microphones for the panel as well as standing microphones for the aisles, laser pointer, but also OH-projector, slides-projector, 30 poster boards [can be used on both sides, dimensions 1,40x1,40m and 0,90x1,40m]), etc. OAC technicians provide technical support during the whole conference. An internet room is at the disposal of the conference participants. Furthermore, there is wireless connection on the ground floors of both buildings and in the area outside. OAC offers an all-inclusive package which includes accommodation, full board, and conference facilities. The cost per day is:

OAC bank account
OAC provides breakfast and two meals per day, which are served in the dining room of the foundation. During the summer months, when the weather is good, meals are served on the big veranda of OAC, providing a magnificent sea view. There is a breakfast buffet and warm meals for lunch and dinner. The meals follow the traditional Cretan cuisine and include starters, salad, main course, fruit/dessert, as well as local wine and water. There are two coffee breaks per day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, including coffee, tea, orange juice and biscuits/cake. |
OAC has 60 rooms, which are all double, with either two beds or a double bed, and out of which 5 are suites (two rooms, with a double bed in the one and a sofa in the other room). All have their own bathroom and most have a sea-view and air-conditioning.
Please note The earliest possible date of arrival at the OAC is August 31st 2014.
All participants staying in OAC, must leave their rooms at the latest on September 8th 2014.

PhD students who will obtain their PhD in 2014 or later qualify for an inexpensive accommodation and meal package. The package includes sharing a room (double occupancy) at a nearby hotel and all meals and coffee breaks at the Orthodox Academy. The package costs 50€ per day. If you qualify and you would like to have this package, please mention this explicitly in the registration form.
The number of rooms available for this package is limited. To increase the chances to obtain such a room, PhD students should register and request the package before May 1st.
Scientific Program and Poster Session
A small number of talks will be decided a few weeks before the conference with speakers among the registered participants. There will be a poster session, and interested participants should mention in their registration that they want to present a poster. They should also send by the end of June 2014 to hep-secretary@physics.uoc.gr a title and abstract for their talk as the ArXIv numbers of relevant papers. There will be a free morning or afternoon on Wednesday, and an excursion will be organized to the beach of Elafonisi. The conference banquet will take place on Thursday evening
