ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The International School of High Energy Physics and Cosmology (ISHEPAC) aims to provide basic training to beginning graduate students and advanced undergraduates in the fields of Elementary Particle Physics and Cosmology. A serious effort will be made to bring together the best available lecturers and the most motivated and promising students.

Any beginning graduate student or advanced undergraduate is eligible to attend. There is no restriction on nationality, race or gender. Selection will be based on the student's academic record and general educational level. To apply to the school it is preferable to use the online registration form. If this is not possible, one can also apply by ordinary mail. All materials should be sent to:

The deadline for the application form, recommendation letters and all related material to reach Heraklion is July 23, 2005. Applicants will be notified of the selection committee's decision before the end of July 2005.

Upon recommendation of the selection committee, a small number of fellowships will be offered to exceptional students who cannot cover travel expenses from other sourses. A larger number of fellowships will be awarded following completion of the course of study, on the basis of overall performance as determined by exams and class participation.

The ISHEPAC will take place at the Department of Physics of the University of Crete in Heraklion, during the period from September 4 to October 29, 2005. The instructors and program of study for the School may be found at the school's homeage http://hep.physics.uoc.gr/ISHEPAC/
