By car
Take the highway A2; exit "Hannover-Herrenhausen", follow the sign "Zentrum"; drive along the B6 (Westschnellweg), exit "Herrenhausen"; take the Herrenhäuser Str. to the right; pass the Great Garden; at the fork to the right into the Nienburger Str.; the second left is the Callinstr.; no. 38 at the left hand side is the AEI.
By plane
The taxi fare from the Airport to the Institute is approx. 30 EUR. There is a special suburban train ("S-Bahn" no. 5) going from the Airport to the Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof"). Tickets are available at a counter or at ticket vending machines at 2.80 EUR. The S5 leaves the Airport at 06 and 36 min after each full hour between 5 am and 1 am. Duration: 17 min. The taxi fare from the Central Station to Callinstr. 38 is approx. 8 EUR.
By train
The taxi fare from the Central Station to Callinstr. 38 is approx. 8 EUR. By subway: Leave the Central Station direction "City"; walk along the Bahnhofstr. to the subway station "Kröpcke" (at the "Kröpcke" square); take subway no. 4 direction "Garbsen" or no. 5 direction "Stöcken". Leave the train at the fourth stop "Schneiderberg/Wilhelm-Busch-Museum"; cross the Nienburger Str., walk along the Schneiderberg; after the refectory (Mensa) turn left into the Callinstr.; no. 38 at the right hand side is the AEI. Tickets are available at kiosks or at ticket vending machines (e.g. at subway station "Kröpcke"). Departure times every 4 min. Mo. - Fr. One-way ticket ("EinzelTicket"): 2,30 EUR; a set of 6 tickets ("SammelTicket"): 12,90 EUR; 24-hours ticket ("TagesEinzelTicket"): 4,30 EUR.View Larger Map
